new 1965 Impala 2 dr hardtop owner

Calgary Alberta Canada. Just bought an all original 2 owner 1965 Impala 2 door hardtop 283 powerglide, in amazing shape for the age with no rust. looking to do some improvements starting with firming up suspension, replacing powerglide with B&M TH350, and eventually changing out the 283. I would like to keep it with gen 1 sbc or bbc but the LS engines are growing more attractive when you add everything up. Also looking to put some 17 or 18" torq thrust 2's on the car, and swap to front disc brakes. Looking to do everything myself and on the cheap (cause that's the kind of guy I am). Also May look into a manual trans swap in the future if I get an engine that deserves it.
