Each auction site is different you will have to read or contact the site. I sold a vehicle with copart once and they took the vehicle on consignment and anything over their fee the vehicle sold for you would get in a check.

You are advised to personally inspect anything of value before a sale is offered. If you can not inspect a car yourself there are people out there that do it for a fee who work for you and represent your interests (for a nominal fee of course). If you buy a pig in a poke (a gunny sack) you pay for what you get whether that is what you wanted or not.

Dave is right, I wouldn't buy a car from an auction unless you can inspect it in person. It took me 6-7 months to find a car. While I was searching most of the "Ebay" cars were nice on the picture but in reality they had a lot of problems and undisclosed rust.
