Hello Everone

Hi Folks, I'm Shane Hart. I've got a 65 Impala which I'm restoring I've posted pic's on flickr.com if anybody wants to have a look. Just enter 65chevimpala (all one word) into search box and there are about 70 pic's so far. The car had been sitting in my dad's garage for about 20 years before I got to it.
I'm trying to fine the correct paint colour for this car.The pillar tag has G.M. CANADA D.D 164695NZ5176. On the left rear chassis C section it has a plate welded to it and 3859496 is stamped on it, under this stamped into the chassis is "BUDD" and under this is stamped "3-26-65-B.
Ive found out that the car arrived CKD pack aboard MV Hartuig Maersk 2/8/65.
Assembled at Petone 4/11/65
Colour Sierra Beige with Saddle Trim.
Now I have not been able to fine the colour Sierra Beige and was wandering if somebody could point me in the right direction. Also I have a photo which is early 70's and it has the car with a white roof is this correct? and last but not least parts of the underside and chassis seem to have white or light grey paint on them, this seems strange but I'm not sure?
Can somebody please help Thanks Shane

Welcome to the Team Shane!

Car was assembled in Canada which means some of the trim may differ from an American build. PPG sells paint mixed to match the original paint as mixed when new (no guarntee it will match a faded out 45 year old paint job) based upon the trim tap paint color. The S paint code is for a color called Sierra Tan (aka Saddle) and is available from most paint companies.

Hi Dave thanks for the welcome. I've got the 1965 gm paint chips chart which has Sierra Tan on it. But it was miles darker than the colour Sierra Beige. I only have a couple of places on the car that still has the original paint. One of which is on the fire wall under the steering column gasket. This has never been removed and has not faded at all. Thanks Shane
