Made a jump into Impala territory

Hi everyone,

I have been on Team Nova for quite some time now. And why? well I have a 1969 Nova with a 454 +0.030 with some nice goodies in it, tko600 and some other subtle upgrades. Built the engine in the beginning of the year and got the car back together at the end of the summer. The car is sitting in Sweden right now as I just moved back to California.

I moved back here because of work and I am hoping to be here for a long time. Right now I am in Redwood City, CA.

So on to the question why I am here. Well I recently picked up a 1964 Impala SuperSport. It is black with silver interior. The car is very original and if anything has been replaced it has been mostly NOS parts. The interior is pretty much all original, except for headliner and carpet. It has tilt steering wheel and dashboard tachometer. The unfortunate downside is that the original 327 is gone and it has got a transplant from a 1969 Chevelle, so not it has a 307 with PowerGlide, and 3.04:1 final drive ratio. Power steering and power brakes, and has been slightly lowered.

I will make another post with plenty of pictures of both cars and also a link to a little short movie I did the other day.

Hoping to share info and get some good advice from you guys!

If there are any locals in the Bay, let me know. Always up for local shows and events.

Best Regards / Magnus

Thanks! And yeah this car was a real good find. Souped up 327 would be nice, but as I am stupid sometimes! I would love to build a 409 :-) Expensive though. I just like building engines!

Send me a PM on the engines. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. As it is sitting now I am enjoying it a couple of times a week, so it does get driven some, and therefore I will only make the smaller fixes needed. Right now it looks like the generator is going bad, and some minor fuel leakage from the carb, plus a sticking gas pedal ( not like the toyotas, the other way around, not going back to idle), so a new return spring is on the list.

Then I am just gonna get some water marks and other minor contaminants out of the paint, use a nice mild buffer/cutter. I used a good one called System X or something here in the states. Do you have recommendations?
