Hi everyone. Newbie with a 66 convertible SS

Hi, everyone.

My name's Steve.

Just bough my first full restoration project. Thankfully it's a solid California car, so I don't need to replace trunk, floor pans, etc.

1966, 4 spd, 396 convertible with 12 bolt posi, 43k.

Tach in dash works. Gonna have to locate the dash mounted clock somewhere...

I have the original 14" wheels. But, I'm going to be doing a front disc conversion which doesn't support the use of 14"s

Here's to hoping I didn't bite off more than I can chew. I'll be here a lot over the next few months doing research...

Assuming this forum supports photobucket links, I'll post some pictures now..

I also own a 73 Z28 and am a member of NastyZ28.com.

Best regards,

Steve.

These are my first pics, picking it up and bringing it to it's temporary home (not pictured).

A shop painted the valve covers blue when they put in hardened seats for unleaded, I ran the numbers. The block matches the vin. The alternator and carb are clearly not original.

Welcome to the Team Steven!

I see you got the rare sun roof option with your convertible top.

Great find. That looks like a really strong car to start with. The trim looks like it's all good and I vote to keep the color combination original.

Wow What a nice car. Put the top down, put some black duct tape on the seats and drive it like you stole it.
And Welcome.

Great car. Loose the bass boat trailer wheels but hang on to those black tags.

And of course, post pix as you go.
