New here. I'm excited to meet some new folks.

I just baught me a 68 impala in rough shape. it has the original matching vin #'s on everything, with a single owner from a woman. 327 engine, with 2 speed power glide tranny.
My goal is to restore this, and beyond, I am not much on staying factory, I am a big chip foose fan.
I'm 26 yrs old and I'm a automotive paint techincian, but i do it all except the frame machine, as i have had no desire to learn that.
I'll post up pics of some of my work later on, as I am big into airbrush artwork as well.
I'm new to this erra of vehicles, as i have a 98 gsx eclipse that I have built from the ground up, it is a 4cyl thats turbocharged and has ecmlink , I've tuned it to put right near 600 all wheel hp,
It was a challenge to do such drastic things on my baby, but I've always had it in me to get some american muscle and build it with my father and my son to keep as a family airlome.
So my destination is unknown but the journey will make this car more special than anything I' have ever touched, and I am excited to start, and meet some of my senior members on here, to help me stay on the right path.

Welcome Brandon, A new generation is learning how to enjoy these big GM Cars. They drive and ride like nothing they have been in before. And once you enjoy driving one of them your hooked.

Welcome, having had a 98 eclipse myself, and being relatively young (27) I know how you feel. I have a 65 impala (bought it with my own money when I was 16) and can tell you these b bodies are as cool as it gets! The more time and effort you put into these cars, the more you can appreciate them! There are a ton of people on here who have been doing this as long as we have been alive, so ask questions. And have fun!

Welcome Brandon, The good part of restoring a 68' is there is no computer the bad part is if you want goodie's other than what you already have on you car; your in for a long haul as you will see in the latest post's here for the 68's.
Either way it will be way worth it when your done, were all here for ya'.

Welcome!

Welcome to the site man! Looking forward to seeing pics of your Impala. In the business as well, I own a collision repair shop 6 miles from Pgh. PA. I'm 41 years old - I started out with a Daytona Turbo, had an Eclipse, Eagle Talon, Stealth R/T - then a 79 Hurst Olds Grand National, etc.. Big cars from there on out, currently doing a frame off restoration on my 65 Impala 2 door. Different animal, but I love this car more than any other that I have owned! Something about a full size from the 60's era... Good luck to you!

pics of my 68 project

I want to make this flawless from the ground up, and have one heck of a family airlome for generations to come. I will be building this to drive,, not to sit in 1 spot on a trailor or shows, so the quality will have to be top notch.
It's pretty kewl this car was built in NewYork and baught new here in Waverly TN at Everready motors that no longer exzists, and it will re-live here in waverly TN.

a side note, is their a section where we can post up off topic cars we are working on etc... I have some great photos of a ffew hotrods i have done I'd like to share, but i have yet to find any area that would allow an off topic discussion like that.

Welcome! You're in good company here. And for what it's worth: I dig those wheels on the Chevy.. they actually look really cool! Never thought of that combination!

Good luck!

nice looking car, I can't wait to see what you're going to do to it! I'm 30 and also am new to the 60's cars just inheriting a 1968 Impala 4dr hardtop myself. I enjoy working on these old cars, and intend mine to be a daily driver too, not some trailer queen. Good luck on your project, you've found the right place for advice/encouragement.
