Another new guy w/ a 65 SS to restore

Hi, my name's Andrew. I own a 1965 impala SS. It needs practically everything and I intend to stick with it to the end.

It has a 327 which I was told is not the original, but that it did originally have a 327.

I really know almost nothing about engines. I've only ever done minor maintenance and replacements on my previously owned cars (none of which were classic cars). I have enlisted my brother to help who is way more experienced w/ cars more than me.

I hope to get a lot of advice and learn a lot of knowledge to take to the garage and put to good use towards the restoration of my car. I don't know how much I'll be able to contribute due to my inexperience and lack of car smarts, but I'll chip in two cents when and where I can.

Andrew

Welcome Andrew. Do not be reluctant to ask for help. We all started life not knowing much about anything and we developed different interests and talents from there. I have an fair idea on how to build a motor but will not even attempt to do upholstery. Body work is not my forté but I at least know why there are several grades of sand paper and what a body file looks like (do not trust me with one around your car though).
