New to the forum and just got my first Impala

Yesterday I picked this car up out of a field. The person who had possession of the car obviously didn't even care about the car and made some poor decisions. He was using it for target practice, shot holes in the body, shot out most of the glass, and dented up the roof. I picked it up dirt cheap (less than the price of scrap cheap) and felt bad for the car. I have hopes of making a daily driver out of this car, but I don't have much money. So I'm here to try to build the cheapest impala, searching for usable cheap parts. I'm lucky to have some broke friends with mad skills with steel that would be willing to help me out with what I can't do.

Anyways, here is some pictures of the car.

And I thought my baby was in bad shape. Looks like some good fun is ahead of you. Ive had some beyond outstanding experience with Desert Valley Auto Parts (DVAP) out of AZ with getting all the replacements I needed in the past few weeks. Cheap they arent but they havent said "We dont have it" to me yet for whatever I have been searching for.
Good luck in your rebuild, looking forward to updates.

Oh and a few years back I bought this 81 Chevy Pickup, 2wd, long bed for $75. I drove it home. It had an Olds 403 6.6L and turbo 375 transmission. The truck is long gone but the motor and trans has been sitting out back covered up. I've been looking for something to put it in. I did consider swapping it into my 66 Volvo 122s.

Welcome to the Team David.

Now that you have a parts car all you need is a rust free project car to build. Time to go vacationing in the high plains desert country in Americas scenic southwest where you should be able to find a 1967 two door hard top to put these two cars together to make one nice one. (the desert southwest is great at preserving steel; but it is murder on all of the car's soft parts like interiors, and wiring).

You've got quite a project ahead of you, but by all means go for it

If it was sitting in grass/dirt, you really need to check out the frame though.

I've seen much worse fixed.

I actually had one just like it, same color and all, except mine didn't have a vinyl top.

Keep us posted.
