New 65 SS For Me & Some Questions

I am working on purchasing this original 1965 Impala SS 396. What should I do to it to retain the stock look but upgrade the safety, engine performance, suspension, steering and anything else? PLEASE GIVE ME SOME OPINIONS Thank you I will be changing the rims also. What is a reasonable price for this car? Please let me know. I am going to change the rims also. What about the engine mounts and body mounts as well? Of coarse I will change the front drums to a new disk set.

Welcome. I think the car looks great as is. The wheels look small but maybe its just the photo. Only things I would do is up grade the brakes to disc as I have done on mine for safety, and add rear seat belts. The engine and body mounts if original probably could use replaced.
As far as price, the car looks to be in the 18-20 thousand range. Could be more or less depending on condition.

First i should say, I like that car! Dadstoy is way more into pricing than I am, so you can trust him more than myself on that, but I was thinking only $12k-$17k depending upon a closer physical inspection. It does l ook nice in the pictures though. (though I somewhat suspect old wore-out foam under that new seat vinyl)

Slight Thread Hi-Jack: I see that is a big-block in there. Is that thin spacer/mount between the radiator and the radiator support on all big blocks of that era?

Original number matching 396 helps the value about 25%. Non original big block helps the value little. And yes that is a thin spacer original to the car and the radiator is not.

Looks to me like an aftermarket 4 core radiator, and it is missing the shroud because the radiator is so thick.
Great looking car. If it doesn't need paint I can easily see $20k.

Agreed, beautiful car. Depending on what part of the country this is in, 15-20k doesn't seem far off.
