New guy from SoCal 69 Impala

Well I finally got back the one car that I hated that I had to sell the original was a 69 Caprice......I had been on the "hunt" for one for about 7 months and I finally found one about 2 hours away from me. I saw it advertised I emailed the guy 4 times (he didn't list his contact number) and he FINALLY got back to me and he said "well I just listed (it had been up for 2 hours) and I got 2 people coming to look at it this evening" I said ok can you email me more pics of the car please?

He sent over pics that I requested and he gave me a little history of the car (the guy was about 70ish) and he said the magic words "I'M THE ORIGINAL OWNER, I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW!" I HAVE THE ORIGINAL "CERTIFICATE OF OWNERSHIP THAT WAS ISSUED 12/03/1968!"

He then says it runs but the points need to be changed on it and I am getting too old to mess with the cars like I used to, I just want it to go to someone that will take care of it. After talking to the guy I told him that I will take the car (unseen in person) and he said well if your really serious if you can send me $100 deposit I will take it off CL and hold it for you. I told the guy I will send you a $500 deposit he says that won't be necessary if you you give me your word that is good enough for me!

So I went up there yesterday (6/18) and I saw the car physically and KNEW that I had made a good deal! I will even go so far as to tell you what I paid for the car......$1400!!!!!
It has the 350/350 Factory A/C thats all I know for now I haven't had a chance to get into it yet but needless to say I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY!!!!

Awesome thanks. I was going to the the suspension work on it earlier, but when I came to remove the ball joints I didn't realize that those are riveted on and I don't have a grinder. I'm going to have to wait till next week to work on it.

I am also more than willing to help you out.

I just picked up a '68 4 door last week.
