Hello from Nottingham, Pa

Hello all, Name is Barry I've been reading posts in this forum for a month and I'm liking what I see. So far I see a lot of friendly and helpful members posting. That's what I like and will need cause I'm sure I'll be asking quite a few questions.

So let me tell you a lil about what I picked up just over a month ago. As you can tell by my username a 1969 Bel Air. My buddy bought the car for the 12 bolt 4.56 posi with a title for around $400. I seen it sitting on his trailer and had to investigate it ( he teases me by leaving cars on that trailer knowing I'd like them). I went over and checked her out and fell in love. 69 Bel Air 2 door retired Drag car. Use to be a 11sec car had a 427 th400 in her. As I'm going over her I'm noticing that everything and anything that was not needed to run down the track was removed or cut out A/C Heater box, wiring, door supports the passenger door was cut where the window regulators and handle were mounted and a piece of lexan was placed. Drivers door was cut with a 1" hole saw where ever there was metal. The rear passenger windows are lexan too. Only glass in the car is drivers side windshield and rear window. The hoods braces/support was also removed (steel hood). That thing flexes like a wet noodle.... The suspension is all drag parts trick springs and 3 way adjustable shocks and a roll cage. Besides all that mess the body is really nice a very small amount of mud in the rear left quarter and that's it. I'm gonna keep her a drag car but I'll also fix her back up so I can take her on the road again some. Only thing I can't find is a pass door or one I can cut out the missing in mine but for now I'm not to worried about that.

Welcome to the Team Barry!

I cut holes in the inner doors with a hole saw; I don't hack out the whole inner door panel. No wonder it is flimsy.

By the way I edited your posts. you need to add returns between posting each picture or they fall off the side of the screen and no one will see them. With returns they stack one atop the other and roll down as people read your post.

I like it, needs a lot of TLC but its definitely worth investing some money and sweat into.

Thanks Big Dave for correcting my mistake. I thought something didn't look right when I posted this. It's been a while since I've posted anything with pictures in forums. Agreed Big Dave, they went overboard in cutting out metal... Iv'e seen 1" holes cut out before but 70% of a door and about that from a hood that's just crazy Ha.
Thanks dadstoy, If I didn't think she was worth time and money I would have let my buddy scrap it. One of my favorite bone yards has everything I need to get this project rolling again. They have a really nice hood, front and rear valance ect.. all but a pass door. I might have some luck with Carlisle fall swap meet coming up Oct 4th-6th for a door.
