64 impala 454

hello, im new to this site and currently doing a frame off resto on my 64 impala. im very famaliar to these cars. but this my first frame off. i have a 454ci that i want to use but not sure of the power steering. i would like to keep it power steering. what do i need to do? brackets, pulleys, etc...

If it were me... I would pretty much run the pump and pulleys that go with the 454. It is a modern easy to get pump and pulley setup. I think it is in the same basic location as it has pretty much always been on the big block chevy. You can easily find brackets and stuff for a big block Chevelle to fit.

I definitely would use a heavy duty carrier bearing, had to with my 454.

Thanks for all the tips. but i was able to locate a original 64 327 in running condition. so im going to stay with the factory setup in my car. still goin to use the heavy duty carrier bearing. those rubber ones just dont hold up! thanks andy
