just gettin started

picked up a 65 ht this past spring with a 400 sb/powerglide out of a hayfield for $700 and drove it home.just looking for some ideas

thanks for the offer but i think i'll keep her. had some photos but the wifes hi dollar digital camera crapped out and lost everything prior of getting the frame ready for sandblast isnt technology great but plan on having some more soon after christmas

If you ever need parts keep an eye on the classifieds here on this site. Some times some good stuff shows up. Also a good place to sell parts you don't need.

took some pics with my phone not great. i've looked around and some people started with way worse. found a front section of frame to repair the front strut rod brace at a local scrap yard for 40 bucks that fixes worst spot on car except trunk pan

Quite a serious project there but at least it's a classic 65 that ran!
If you keep it an automatic, I'd ditch that 2 speed and get with a 4 speed. Lots of tips here in older threads on the 200-4R or 700R4.

originally i just took the front off to fix the frame and decided there were only a few more bolts and i could lift off the body and well here we are elbows deep...

I've already decided the pg has got to go, have a friend with a couple of Muncie's in the garage but he may not come off one.if not definitely want an OD trans but need one that will hold up to a 406. 700r4 or maybe 4L80 depending on price.
