Welcome to the Team Tim!

If your 555 came complete with an HEI you need a braided multi-strand copper automotive wire to run from your ignition switch to the HEI BAT terminal (a points style distributor uses nickle-chrome steel wire to power ignition points as it drops the voltage down by four volts).

If your 555 is fired by an ignition box you just run power and a ground wire to the ignition box using the manufactures recommendations on wire size and color.

Of course if your 555 has no ignition at all; you can just pull your points style distributor and reinstall it in the big block. (assumes you had a SBC V-8 in it originally as a six cylinder distributor won't work). Everything else is as it was before electrically.

Welcome Jim! I can't even imagine what that engine must perform like. Wow, I'm jealous!
