new member with 65ss

hello all, figured I would drop by and say hello. I just purchased a 1965 ss, it's white with red interior, 283 powerglide. It's a really nice solid original from AZ. Nothing has really been altered from stock, it's one of the cars I've always wanted. I'm also a member on Team Chevelle, I own a 1970 ss L78 car Black Cherry w/ white stripes. Gotta love the Chevys!!

Welcome to the Team Sam!

Have you noticed how spacious the under hood area is in an Impala, and hood clearance as well? Are you by any chance thinking about a nice tall deck Dart block with 4.600 inch bores and a 4.500 inch stroke rotating assembly in front of a 6L90e tranny turning a set of 3.55 gears in a 12 bolt posi rear. Should get some one's attention at car shows.

thanks for the welcome guys! I really like this car, I just returned from a 480 mile trip in the car. It performed perfectly and cruised awesome! I've always wanted a 65, I just love the way they look. I've had my share of old cars including a 64 impala and a 61 bel air. This 65 is just so original and not messed with it's like a time capsule. Not the most powerful car on the block, but that's ok. When I need the horsepower fix I get in my 70 chevelle ss. Take care.
