Long Tube Help

It's been awhile since my last post and I did decide to keep the ole' girl, she's in bodywork now. My question is I have returned several sets of long tube's because either #5 tube interferes with steering or #7 tube interferes with my Z bar. I'm looking for recommendations on what you guys are running on your 1968 (rear steer) big block, 4 speed cars; without any mods. Not looking to shell out big money for a occasional driver.
With the Z-bar attaching to the bellhousing, I would think #7 tube wouldn't be an issue, but it has. I trying not to go with mid-lengths even though this is just a sub- 4500 rpm engine, it's not out of the question. Thanks all!

I was under the impression the Z bar attached to the block above the oil filter.
