Im swapping a 5.3/4l65e into my 60 belair and am wondering if the stock truck intake will fit under the hood? I?m using street machinery mounts and trans crossmember.

I can only offer you my personal method.

1. Put engine in car.

2. Attempt to close hood.

3. Observe results.

You have a lot more room under the hood than a Camaro so I would say it probably will fit.

Using the above method; I would add don't slam the hood shut.

If you are looking for pure performance thee are better manifolds that offer more hood clearance as the truck has long tubes to build bottom end torque as opposed to top end power with shorter tubes on a high performance aftermarket manifold.

Remember the manifold (all LS-X manifolds are reversible) so if you want a cheap cold air intake duct the air out of the plenum in front of the wiper arms, by putting the intake on backwards. Same for the exhaust manifolds if you want the hot air up front to power a turbo.
