Quad Jet to Holley carburator

I have a 1966 with the 327 and I want to put a Holley carb I have on it. I have heard i will need an adapter plate to make this work because a Holley is a square bore and the Q-jet is a spread bore it this the case? My other question is the Holley looks as if it has fewer vacuum's than the Q-jet what do you do to fix that issue do you split them?

The QuadraJet is a great carb. If properly tuined it will run toe to toe with a Holley. Where the Holley has the advantage is in changing out the cast iron manifold for a free breathing one that wasn't cast with square corners.

I would look on line for a used cast aluminum QuadraJet manifold to try to see if you improve that way first as it will be cheaper. You can use the same adapter to put a Holley on top later if it doesn't work as planned by turning the adapter over.
