2 door sedan

can someone tell me were there might be a place I could purchase some decent used int. door panels that I can redo for my sons 61 two door sedan shipping isnt a problem, the ones we had are trashed, they must have good top metal pcs. if you know what I mean (sorry dont know the real name)

Those "Door Panel Retainers" are no longer sold new as metal but the same part in plastic may be found here:

That assumes of course that they interchange which I do not know. They may also be available as a remanufactured part from some of the restore houses but I will wager they will not be cheap if found (saw some on e-Bay going for nearly $6 each).

As to the door panels you may have to make your own out of heavy cardboard, plastic self adhesive stick on vapor barrier (factory used tar paper) and some serious reupholstery work. (I have watched a local upholstery and convertible top shop make panels for a boat that used cardboard and a thick padded vinyl sheet that was flat when he applied it, but he pressed ridges into the plastic that looked like a factory original when he was done)

For what it is worth, they are also using plastic on the rear panels of some pre-assembled units. I have a pair on my '66. No complaints.
