63 4 door sedan bench seats

Hello Impala world! This is my first post and I am restoring a 63 4 door impala sedan that has SS bucket seats in the front from the previous owner. I wanted to know if anyone knows where I can find a front bench seat for her?

You will only find used so craigslist or junkyards. The buckets with the correct brackets are worth an easy $300 or so.

Welcome to the Team Danny!

As Bob has mentioned you can easily find someone that is willing to trade with you for your bucket seats and cover shipping as well. Buckets are much more desirable and harder to find than a bench seat. Every car made had a bench seat installed in it except for the SS models which was the only car to get bucket seats. In your year of car an SS was a trim option (that carried a separate model number on the trim tag) that offered no performance upgrade; just bucket seats and a lot of chrome badges saying SS.

So in essence if you have bucket seats in your car now you have 80% of an Impala SS. Only thing you are missing is the center console and the badges (you can even buy a trim tag on line that says anything you want as far as model number and options go). Though not illegal it upsets the restoration crowd something fierce to change out a trim tag. (The VIN tag can not be changed by law, and it also lists the model number).

Thanks Big Dave. I think I am going to sell the bucket seats and use the money to purchase a bench seat frame and springs to re-foam/re-upholster.
