Calling all 1967 Impala 4 door owners!

*Blows calling horn*

No but seriously, I know 1967 Impala 4 door owners are probably scarce and hard to find but I came into contact with Cliff Carr, a manager from PUI and they're looking to reproduce the rear seat covers out of a 67 4 door Impala that they currently don't make. They couldn't use mine because they don't look to be original. PUI is looking for an ORIGINAL rear cover set. If you have one they can make you a free prototype and you'll provide feedback on how it fits before they go into production.

It probably doesn't matter if it's out of a sedan or hardtop because they're probably the same thing. But I'll ask him. If you're interested in this great opportunity so PUI can finally release the 4 door rear seat cover on the market, please post in this thread and I can give you Cliff's email.

Hopefully this doesn't get deleted, thanks everybody!

Nope your good. Thanks for the offer. I don't have an old Impala any more as I crushed my '85. But I am all in favor of preserving those that are left. Hopefully some one can take advantage of this offer.

I assume you thought your covers were original. Is there some tell tale give away that someone else can look for to know if their rear seat covers might or might not qualify as being original?

The biggest sign is that mine doesn't have the correct pattern. He's looking for the same pattern as the 67 Impala straight bench front seat cover that they currently offer. Cliff said that mine looks like something an upholstery shop did at one point for a previous owner because it's just a flat sheet of vinyl with a basketweave design. Having an original design is important so he can match the already offered front seat.

He'll have you email photos of your seat covers anyway so he can judge them.

Wow around 100 views and no one appears to be interested or can't do this. Or there's just not a lot of 4 door owners. Hopefully someone will step forward!

I have a 67 4 door hardtop with a blue vinyl/cloth interior that I plan to switch to all black leather, only just don't know when. Hope you will find one..

Would you be interested in this opportunity? I don't know what your interior and rear seat look like. Cliff says he'll accept a sedan or hardtop (they're the same thing) rear seat cover to make a free prototype for you in any color with the PUI 67 Impala pattern - http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....9a~Z5Z5Z54581O. Whenever you replace the interior you won't find a rear seat cover on the market (I'm having that issue) for 4 doors unless you get a custom one made from an upholstery shop.

Think about it and let me know if you're interested.

I have just begun a 67 4 dr sedan project. TX Barn find with only 56k miles but everything is brittle... still, these bench seats could be a good model for you. I also need the interior done eventually anyway.

Brian,
Sorry for the late response. I sent you a message in your inbox regarding this.

Just so you know Dennis has already sent an email to Cliff with pictures of his rear seat cover and I don't know what the status is of their conversation is. But you can give it a shot and send pictures of your rear seat cover if you want.

By the way PUI does sell the 67 Impala front bench seat already. You'll just need a matching rear seat cover like I do. If Dennis's rear seat cover won't work for Cliff then yours may be a good modal.

Thanks,
Aaron

Brian,

Just send a mail to Cliff as maybe it's more suitable than mine.
I don't know if mine is as I haven't received a reply from Cliff till now.

Dennis

This is my backseat

I'm going to be honest Dennis, your interior looks great (besides the half eaten arm rest - or is that an ash tray? It's hard to tell). I'd actually hesitate to take any of that apart.

Perhaps Brian should be the one to do it since he's currently working on a project.

Hopefully Cliff responds. If he doesn't for a long period of time, try to send another email asking him what he thinks of the seat covers.

quick update... Cliff responded the other day and said he 1) was checking on the timeline of the product team to develop and release this bench seat 2) got both Dennis and my info and working on it.

I gathered I'm 2nd position to Dennis' offer. If I hear more on timeline, I'll report back.

as an aside... my seats are coming out regardless and they are brittle but complete sets. I don't care if I never get them back, but it's up to Cliff and team if it's useful.

That's good to hear!

Dennis may not be ready to take his out yet seeing how he said that he's not sure when he's going to change the color and material of his seats. If he wants, he can drop the 1st position to you seeing how your rear cover is expendable.

You won't be getting the seat cover back anyways, they'll cut up the covers so they can analyze how it's built and build a prototype.

It's not half eaten, it's the ashtray

Got an email from Cliff that it will probably not be my backseat they will use because of "logistics" reasons after mentioning that I'm from the Netherlands.

They will probably use Brian's is my guess and I'm fine with that
Keep us updated with the progress please
