Sunvisors won't stay up!! Need help!!

I have completed a total restoration on my '65 Impala convertible, including new interior and sunvisors. However, the sunvisors won't stay up. They flop down and blind my vision continually. I bought the new tips and bushings on the ends but they are no help at all.
I've tried putting tape on the ends and along the rod to increase the size of the arm and hoping it would increase the friction between the arm and slsot on the visors but that didn't help.
I can't keep driving holding up the visor with my right arm, shifting the 4-speed and holding the steering wheel, all at the same time.
HELP!!! Please!!

Try rubber bands instead of tape

On my 65, I take the inner end of the visor out of the mount, then flip up. The slight diagonal pressure on the left mount keeps it in place. Mine will fall as well if the inner mount is used.

Two doors, four doors, wagons, and ragtops.

Sunvisors

3 components to the fix: Rubber tips, nylon grommets and adjusting the flat head screw that locks the sunvisor in place:
Here's a link to the tips and grommet:

Tighten up the upper flat head screw that locks the sunvisors in place and you should be good.
