seat question

my 66 has a 50/50 bench seat, I was wondering were they all built with mounting holes for bucket seats ?

No the 50/50 isn't considered a bucket seat as there are no bolsters to hold you in place.

That is a rare seat for a Chevy, more common on higher priced GM cars such as the Caddy or Buick, though they are all pretty well interchangeable.

clarification

I guess I wasn't clear in my original post, I was asking if the floor pan of a 66 had bolt holes for the mounting of bucket seats ?

No good deed, goes unpunished !

SS cars had Floor Brackets welded in place for the Buckets.

Since holes allowed exhaust fumes to enter the car body there are no open holes built into the car at the factory. So no, there are no mounting holes or under pan bracing to support a bucket seat, unless the car came with bucket seats (an SS model).

You can easily (assumes you can weld and have fabrication skills) install bucket seats in your car by making a mounting bracket to support the seat frame rails of whatever bucket seat you choose to install.

If you find the buckets you need the stands that the frame sits on or you would have to fabricate them. You can add a strip of 1/4 inch metal under the floor pans to strengthen them.
