Dash speaker

Just recently pulled the dash speaker from my 66 impala so far its the only one i see. When i got vehicle the rear package tray and everuthing was gone. Anybody know how man 4 door sedan had? The speaker in dash seems to be an 11x5. What can i replace it with. Trying to go all original with am radio and speaker. Maybe build a box in floor board to house a cd player and aftermarket set up. What yall think?

I am no audiophile, but to my knowledge cars only had one speaker in the top of the dash if you had an AM radio and two if you had an FM (front and rear. It wasn't until Stereo FM had been out for a few years before demand drove the factory to install a true four speaker stereo speaker system in cars.

Stereophonic FM has now migrated to satellite XM as broadcasters sell off their frequencies to the cell phone companies. So if you were to install a stereo FM radio in your car it probably will only need one speaker again today, as there are again no stereo FM broadcasters left.

Factory radios had the one center mounted speaker. An optional rear speaker mounted in the seat grill was available.
Your original factory speakers are 10 ohm. Hard to find. But this guy has the goods:

An 8 Ohm speaker are fairly common, but are different in how they perform. A 4 Ohm speaker (very common resistance value on imports) will not work well at all.
