Headliner on a 65

I'm about to tackle the headliner (potentially) on my 65.

Any advice? Any tips/tricks?

Thanks!

Get the correct one. Factory went from cloth and bows to foam over cardboard to reduce labor costs; but it isn't correct. Some reproduction houses will try and sell you the foam covered cardboard ones instead of a roll of cloth cut and fitted with sleeves to hold the factory bows.

I have the roll of cloth with fitted sleeves for the bows.

Any tips on HOW to do the headliner? Where to start from? Any good insider gouge?

I start in the middle and work to the back and then forward. Going to need more than two hands to get it tight as one set has to hold cloth and trim and another set pulls cloth tight and tighten screws that hold the trim that captures the head liner. There are You Tube videos showing the procedure which is the same on all cars of the period. I did it on my 1953 Chevy and few of my '55 Chevys (owned over twenty of them), but not on any car since then ( about a half a century ago).
