Smile 1968 Impala cigarette lighter

Hello All,

My cigarette lighter is loose in the dash. It rotates, and when using the GPS it loses power over bumps and then comes back the next bump. I believe the problem is since it's not tight the ground is coming and going. I can't figure out how it's held in. I don't feel a nut on the back, and the bezel just seems to be for decoration. Anyone know how it's attached?

No but it would be easy enough to rig up a second lighter socket under the dash and plug your GPS in there. It would be a lot less labor intensive and it wouldn't risk damaging what you have now that might not be replaceable.

Just thought I'd post an update. Turns out a friend showed me how to tighten the housing up and it now works great.
