Fire wall insolation

Need to put something on the inside fire wall on my 65 impala, any ideas

Lizard skin is a paint on solution. Similar in application to a bed liner for a pick up truck. Just as tough only it is filled with ground glass which acts as an insulator for heat.

Another option is sheets of aluminized acoustical insulation that has adhesive on one side. You cut and paste the product to get full coverage. Then the original stock jute is put back in place and covered up by your rug. They come in many shapes and thicknesses as well as insulating properties.

is there a way to put the stock jute back up with out removing my heater on fire wall

No, everything needs to be removed from the inside of the firewall. Most people replace that insulation when they take the body off the frame. It's much easier then.

so my best bet might be some dynamat or something like that, cuz i really dont want to pull the heater and stuff out just for that?

i pulled out my wiring harness and found my insolation is failing apart. still have not done anything. how hard is it to remove the heater core cover to replace old pad?
