Radio or Delete

So, until I am able to find a new dash piece, and a radio delete plate is difficult at best to find, and not sure I could make it work anyway, here is my solution. Please keep in mind I am an amateur at crafting anything like this, and this is only until I can find the right piece. Someday. My questions is, should I put the original radio in (I have one), or leave the plate as is. Maybe paint it black, or get some silver screws instead of the black? Ideas are welcome.

Looks good. Maybe leave the surround silver, and the flat part satin black? I would put the radio in, too!

Choices

The radio delete plate is not going to cover up the entire hole you show here. It is a little larger than the radio, Sonia you do find it you would still need some type of filler to fill that hole.

The original radio looks great in that spot. You can even send it out to a guy in PA who will keep it looking old but will make it a modern electronic system that will even power and ipod
