floor mats

I am looking for floor mats for my 1965 Biscayne. All the ones I see in the local parts stores look cheap.......any ideas?

You might be able to find vintage dealer installed mats with the Chevy Bow Tie or Impala logo on them on line. I have no idea who Chevrolet bought them from originally, but I would imagine it would have been somebody like Rubbermaid that made them originally as they were rubber and not plastic back then.

I went through the same thing. Carpeted mats just don't look right. There are repros of the original rubber mats with the Bowtie, all the resto parts houses have them. Expensive, over $100. I settled for some local parts store rubber mats. I'm lucky, black interior is easy to match.

Two doors, four doors, wagons, and ragtops.

I know what you mean. I'm considering getting this set when it's time to redo the interior.

From memory the factory made dealer installed add on floor mats that had the bounding Impala Logo with the Bow Tie being more for the Generic One Size Fits All mats that the dealer carried as well in hopes of having something to appeal to any car or truck buyer. Of course today you take what you can find and be thankful that you are not forced to use clear blue tint Chinese generic floor mats from Wal-Mart.

My 1970 Caprice came with the original dealer add on, bowtie logo, rubber floor mats. They are not cracked or dried, amazingly; but they are permanently discolored now. The back ones are really too big and bunch up under the back seat.

Mats

Donnie,
There was one company that made almost perfrct repro's of the 65-66 mats and they are no hard to find.I think it was a licensing issue. The majority of the adv repro mats are wrong for the 65-66 year. They combine styles from 65 - 68 and maybe beyond to get as many sales as possble. NOS mats do come up pretty often and have come down substantially from where they were, especially the full length that you probably need for a biscayne. Keep an eye on ebay and local swap meets and you'll find them. Not sure what color you need?

What I would do (and have done), is get some cheapo ones from Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=/www.impalas.net/forums/5-interiors/search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Biscayne+floormats
And have them custom embroidered OR buy patches and sew them in myself.

What color do you need and I imagine you are looking for front and rear fulls?
