If your 409 is original to the car I think it should have your partial vin # in front of the head on the passenger side pad. I knpw mors about 64's then 63 tho.

I believe your car isn't an SS but still a nice car with conv and 409 weather original or not.

The ones telling you it's an SS probably just assume the motor is original, and only came as an option for the SS I believe. Just my two cents...
