rearend decode 65 impala

been trying to decode my 10 bolt rear thats in my 65 impala.
on the axle tube "DA0379" gm number on the gear 3790629 62. Thanks in advance.

In 1965 a DA translates to a 3.08:1 ratio; the 03 is for the month of March; and the 79 is the day of the month it was built which I will bet was the 29th day. There should also be a G, a B, or a W stamped at the end of the date to indicate which plant built your rear end. G= Detroit Gear & Axle; B = Buffalo, NY, or a W which is for Warren, MI.

Well since its already going whats this decifer to, its a 12 bolt from a 69 date code is B269(feb 26 1969) What does the axle code say FM0310G2?

Answered your question on your other post, please ask only one question as people search these and will now have to read two posts with the same info.

But it is a 1969 EM not an FM which makes it a heavy duty (four arm) BBC 12 bolt rear that left the factory with an Open 3.07:1 gear set.
