1964 4-Door Sport Sedan 'SS'????????

I know that in '64 the Super Sport became it's own line and stopped being only an option for the Impalas, but does anyone know if they made 4-door SS models? If so how to identify?

A 4 door Impala Super Sport was not offered in 1964.

Look at your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the drivers side door post.

The following are the possibilities for Super Sports in 1964:

If the first 5 numbers of your VIN are any of the following you have a Super Sport. If not then it is not a 1964 Super Sport .

41347
41367
41447
41467

If your VIN starts with
417xxx
418xxx
You have a standard Impala (not Super Sport)

It is very simple to tell for 1964-67, more diffucult on 61-63 and 68 on

Some people abbreviate Sport Sedan as "SS" and talk about a 4 door "SS" this is confusing to some but that would be a 41739 or 41839 VIN and is not a super sport it is a sport sedan. Thats a whole different animal.

Ernesto, yours is an 1839 which correlates to a 4 door Sport Sedan equiped with a V8 engine. It also shows a Fawn colored interor with Fawn exterior paint originally. Looks like it was built the first week of september (september 1963) at the Los Angeles assembly plant. This is also referred to as a 4 door hardtop. Nice looking body style. Enjoy it

.. however, if you weren't all that concerned about the originality of it, how COOL would it be to 'create' a Sport Sedan SS - by adding some buckets, a console, and a shifter on the floor? Hmm.. perhaps I'll keep searching for a Sport Sedan, after all... what a cool cruiser THAT would be! (and, in my own very opinionated opinion: it'd be much less damning to a decent car than all the unfortunate subjects that get cut up and 'bounced' to death with big hoopty 22" wheels). Just sayin' . ;?/
