2 = year 1962
1669 = model series = BelAir 4 door sedean
L = Plant = Los Angeles CA
228560 = Sequence Number. Numbers started at 100001, making yours the 128,559th passenger car off the line that year in Los Angeles (does not include Corvettes or Chevy IIs)
If you are into this stuff, get the book "Chevrolet by the Numbers 1960-1964" by Alan Colvin. Lots of interesting stuff.
Look at the Trim Tag on the drivers side on the lower front portion of the cowl.
It can tell you stuff like :
Body Build date
Body Style (you know that already from the VIN)
Interior Trim color/type
Exterior Paint Color
Accessory Codes (these are kept somewhat mysterious by those that know)
Was it an 8 cylinder or 6 cylinder (nothing will tell you what size it was originally unless you have a 327/300 or 409 with a partial VIN stamped on the engine block, and then you know that it was the original engine).
