Need help with 63

I need some help.
1. where can I go to decode my tag?

Also I was told by someone that they have never seen a 63 engine block with a metal tag. Anyone know the story on metal tags? See pic....

5D - 5=May D=4th week

Style 63-1847 63= model year 1847=2 door hardtop sport coupe(could be SS or non-SS)

Body SL 62249 SL=Body Assembly plant of St Louis MO. 62249 Sequential assembly number.

Trim 875 = Red interior
Paint 922 = Ember Red exterior paint

Somebody else will have to decode the ACC numbers.

The tag on the engine is probably from a rebuilder. I have never seen anything like that from the factory.

The tag riveted to the engine block is the warranty identification tag for a motor remanufacturer. So that isn't the original motor most likely. Like all decodes the difinitive source is Alan Covan's Chevrolet by the Numbers for year of car. recommend anyone concerned about decoding numbers buy the book(s) (there are five different books).
