Need another VIN decode check 1964

06B at the top of the VIN tag

door plate: 41847 S 292724

VIN tag: 641847 SL31916

Trim 811 920

ACC 2LS

Based on what I've figured out so far it is a factory 4 speed car with M20 and rear antenna. Original engine and tranny is not in the car but does anything about the above number tell if it is a 250 horse or 300 horse 327? Car has a factory tach in it.

Thanks,
Chip

Nothing in the VIN will tell you anything more than that it is a six cylinder or a V-8. That is all it says.

What about the paint and interior by the numbers? I know it is not the original color nor interior in this car.

What are the numbers on the pad, front right just below head on the block? If you have an AFB carb. and camel hump heads,2 1/2 exhaust manifolds you have a 300 horse engine if it is orginial to the car.

"Original engine and tranny is not in the car"

Original post indicated that the engine is gone

Correct, the original engine and tranny long gone. Could the factory tach be ordered with any of the V8 engines?

Yes (I think) but the tach came standard with the 327/300 hp with a 4 speed and larger engines with 4 speed.
