Can someone decode the firewall tag on my 1965 Biscayne.

The 05D on the top, means the car was produced in the 4th week of May 1965. The 15411 you already know which is the body style. The VIN should be 15411, not 15311, can you check that? The 3514 means the 3,514th biscayne produced a the assembly plant.
The VIN number does not show on the trim tag but you know that already. The VIN tag is comprised of the model, plant code and then a sequential number after that.
Is that everything?

Your trim tag shows no option codes so it was either a very basic car (no options installed), or they didn't post anything on the tag.

There were five groups with about twenty options per group so you had a group number followed by a letter for each group one option, then the number two followed by all group two options followed by a three down to the letter options for group five.

I looked at the VIN again & it is definately 153115D 178491.

Whats the significance of the 3

The 3 is for 6cyl engine. All the numbers look fine. The cowl tag was almost always stamped with a V8 body style hence the difference.

Have you found a build sheet in the car?
