Before I look it up (assumes it is in my book) I have to ask why even consider a 305 for anything other than scrap metal or an anchor to moore your boat.

Big Dave you have really lost me here.
I am almost certian this is an early 327 engine.
The L305 is a date code on the bellhousing.

Never mind I just got paniky. Though you where sticking in a RPO code LG-4 305 motor out of a 1989 and up pick-up truck. A 305 motor is ok for a light car that isn't going to be pushed beyond 4500 RPM, but for any kind of hot roding they are useless.

TOIO04HCH

Tim,
Recheck you number of digits on your engine code. Maybe you have an extra zero.

T1004HCH ? Maybe

Regardless the HCH indicates a 1966 327/275hp engine with a Holly carburetor attached to a powerglide tranny.
