B stands for "Buick motor division"; the "EN" tells you what transmission was mated with the motor. This motor was probably installed in a "B-body" all right but most likely an Electra 225 rather than a Caprice since they were all made on the same line at the same time. That is why GM painted all of the motors black so you could never tell what motor was stuck in your car when they sold it to you out back in that dark alley.

Could I Get A Second Opinion . I Contacted The Buick People And They Stated It Could Not Be A Buick Engine Due To The Rear Mounted Distributor And Chevrolet intake and Valve Covers . The Engine ID Pad Shows
VO826CNR BEN
I Hope I Don't Come Across As Disrespectful . I'll Admit I'm Not An Expert By Any Means That Is Why I Seek Your Help . The Letters BEN On The Pad Really Have Me Confused .
Again Any Help Will Be Appreciated
Thank You
Ben

It isn't a Buick engine, it is a SBC but painted black because after GM won the lawsuit brought by a Cadillac owner that had sued them over not getting a Caddy mill in his car GM went ahead and installed SBC in every care that required a V-8, and put a Buick V-6 in a every V-6 equipped car for a number of years during the seventies. It was cheaper to use one motor for all applications until they developed newer engine designs in the nineties.

I have the same motor in my shop to replace my 69 Camaro motor win it goes bad. They used this motor in Camaro and other Chevys.
