Dave, thanks for the prompt reply. The car has a 427 in it. How can I tell if the car was born with a 427 if the block was decked? Do you know anything about window stickers and how to tell if the window sticker is authentic? Thanks again in advance, Ron.

There is no difference other than a bigger bore inside the block. Everything is identical otherwise. There was a difference between a small block car and a big block car in how it was built, but once you had a big block, as far as the car was concerned, they were all the same.
I see. Yeah it's hard to tell on the 66's. 2Z is TH400 but you could get that with both the 396 and 427. Actually, if the TH400 is original, the code on the metal tag attached to it would be CB not CA.
