64 Cowl Tag Decode??

I have a 64 Impala SS convertible that I am just starting a frame off restoration on. I need help decoding the Accessory codes on my cowl tag. Here is my tag info:

03A
Style 64 1467 SLO 1269 Body
Trim 879 1 922 Paint
W2LSR

I already know this is a red on red Impala SS convertible built the first week of March 1964 in the St Louis Plant. I need help with the W2LSR accessory codes. I have dug up some info and belive the L reprsents a 4 speed, the R represents a rear seat speaker, and S represents a rear antenna. Does anyone know if this is correct or what the W or 2 represent? The tag also has a "16" stamped on it after the accessory codes, does anyone know what this means?? Thanks for your help. Nick

You are correct in your findings but I also think the W=tinted windshild only. Here is a link that may help. Good Luck.

Hi Nick, the W is Tinted Windshield. The 16 is a handstamp I believe done by someone inspecting the car. I have made a list of the handstamps i have seen and the pattern is that you see the lower numbers on 2drs and the higher number on 4dr sedans and sport sedans. The highest numbered handstamps I have seen are around 63 and 64 and they were used on wagon. There are some exceptions though. Whats the vin on your car? I would like like add it onto the 64-70 fullsize chevrolet registry.

BTW, the 2 you asked about designates group 2 for the option. There are 5 groups. The 2L code is for M20 wide ratio 4spd only.

What engine does the car have and you have any original docs from it.

FYI, some of the codes in that list are incorrect. If anyone has any questions, email me. Some of the codes that show blanks on that list I have decoded.

Im looking at a 1964 Convertible with a 409 in it and the ACC line reads 2M , 2S , 5V . If im correct the 2M line states it came with a powerglide transmission. It has a 4 sp in it now and wondering if I am correct about the codes and if they mated the 409/425 to a powerglide from the factory?

No 409/425 with PG trans. Is it supposed to have the original engine?
