I know the vin is on the inside of driver door, but wondering if there is another location. The vin was painted over and I wrote what I could make out. The garage where the car is kept sent me the vin from the title, which I know has to be wrong. The vin sent was way to long with to many letters in it.

Tell them to run some sandpaper over the VIN. The letters will be very clear.

Two doors, four doors, wagons, and ragtops.

Don't use sandpaper on the VIN tag. Use a Q-Tip with paint remover on it to dissolve the paint. The tag is stainless steel so you can't hurt it with the remover.

The other location is on top of the frame rail, on the passenger side, right behind the rear axle hump in the frame. Hard to see without lifting the body, but you can do it with an inspection mirror and flashlight.

Thanks all. It's a 2 door convertible with a 327... I believe the vin should only be about 13 digits long and the one he sent was about 18 long

Here is what I could make out without the use of sandpaper or paint thinner

1666 1501655a but I believe the "0" maybe a D

Tag under hood
04D. Detroit MI
ST 16667 Body BA 1064
TR 815 2 Paint R

ACC

Some of the numbers maybe wrong like a 6 might be a 4

Any help decoding would welcomed
