Steering Box change/upgrade Garage Labor quote?

I want to get some work done by a local garage on my 67 SS but want to get a feeling for their quote if its reasonable/fair or exaggerated.

Issue: My power steering is making noises and leaking. So they suggested to completely replace it with a quick ration steering box instead of resealing.

What they quoted:
Cardone Industries 27-6537 - A1 Cardone Remanufactured Steering Boxes
Edelmann 70216 - Edelmann Power Steering Hoses and Lines
Edelmann 70551 - Edelmann Power Steering Return Hoses
Moog Chassis Parts ES350L - Moog Replacement Tie Rod Ends
OER 7828871 - OER Steering Couplers
Proforged Chassis Parts 102-10069 - Proforged Idler Arms
Moog Chassis Parts ES370R - Moog Replacement Tie Rod Ends

All parts from summitracing.

Labor for steering update: 7.5 hours ?

Apart from the parts is that fair for labor? Thanks for your feedback.

In my opinion, I would just keep the original system. You can get a new Rebuilt or Replacement Steering Box for a pretty reasonable price. It would be a pretty easy install, everything will fit properly and it will save you a bunch of money. If you decide to go that route, you should be able to order one at your local parts store.

For a complete front end rebuild plus adding some aftermarket parts that is a fair labor estimate on time. All of this info can be found in a flat rate book published by either Chilton's or Motors.

Here is one for your car:

Chilton's 1966 Flat Rate and Parts Manual | eBay

You just look up the operation you want and it is estimated already; or you add up the sub tasks to R&R the parts you want if it isn't inculuded in a given operation.
