65 Impala Steering Column

Hello,

I am trying to replace my current steering column with a new one. The only question I have is what is the correct length steering column for my 65. I have come across a lot of sites that all say different lengths. Could you please help.

Thank You,

That is worth rebuilding as it is a rare factory option. You can find donors more frequently in a Cadillac, Buick or Olds B-body than in a Chevy when in the bone yard.

If you want a shinny chromed replacement (or in black paint) call Ididit and tell them what you want. It will still require cutting the portion of the column that sticks out from the firewall under the hood to length. Fatman Fabricators and others also sell replacements.

What is wrong with your current column? As Dave says, the tilt column is very desirable.

What needs rebuilt on it? From what I've seen, the bearings are available, the signal switch is available. Which horn piece(s) does it need?
